How long is a piece of string? Am I right or am I right? Each collaboration, campaign, event or artwork is priced differently according to the differing variables individual projects have. The more information you can provide for the project in the initial meeting, the more accurate I can be when calculating your fees.

I run through this process in the initial consultation. Basically, in a very brief summary: I take a client’s brief, re-interpret it through creative brainstorming and research to create my an inspiration mood board. I then collage reference pictures out imagery I’ve collected from various places or photographs I may have taken and create some concept thumbnail sketches. From there I mock up a rough line sketch including colour suggestions and email it to the client for approval and amendments. Once the sketch is approved it’s a long process of rendering the final illustration completely in paint, pencil ink and other art mediums and scanning it into my computer for any further coloured/layered with other elements.

I’m based in Brisbane, Australia, which is vibrant, warm, sunny, colourful and a joy to be around! And yes, of course, I will travel!

More often than not, brands engage an artist for their unique talent and style. I work with brands to establish what their requirements are and in that communication, style and aesthetic is discussed. The biggest challenge in working for bigger, more established brands is tailoring your work to suit their aesthetic, while also maintaining your own original style. You want people to recognise the artwork as being yours and the brand by the product. Communication is paramount!

NOW!

One of the aspects I love the most about being a fashion illustrator is the creative brainstorming process. A large part of my job is designing and pitching ideas for campaigns, projects and artworks so finding a way for us to work together to share your story is part of my job!

It could be that you need an artwork created for your next fashion collection or some bespoke wallpaper designs for your new 5 star hotel interiors. Perhaps you require an Artist in Residence or an in-house ‘iconic’ branding illustrator? Or maybe you are looking for a fashion illustrator for media, who is confident in front of the camera, possesses a warm sincerity and charisma, with a side of playfulness and has fresh perspective. I’m of the view that two minds are always better than one, so let’s work it out together!

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s have a chat!

Unfortunately, due to the nature of my craft, I can’t give tangible key performance (KPI) indicators or return on investment (ROI) statistics. At the end of the day, I’m a very, very small clog in a large wheel and have very little to no control over how other businesses operate. What I can give you however is my honest word that I will always deliver on what I say I will deliver and I will do so to the very best of my abilities. I work to deadlines, briefs and budgets. I have worked for many different fashion brands, retail companies and associated industries including Max Mara, Michael Kors, Aje, Brisbane Racing Club, Toowong Village, Treasury Hotel, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, Gloss and Co, The National Retail Association, REST, Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) and Old Government House.

Most of my work is carried out using Copic marker pens, water-colour, acrylics, guache, ink and pencil with some digital editing. I also use collage, both digital and traditional to create artwork.

I can be inspired by literally anything! Nature and art offer a huge source of inspiration as well as fashion design and photography, travel, theatre, music, dance, life experiences and observations and stories. Sensory experiences inspire me, textures, smells, tastes – you name it and I’ll more than likely be able to generate a stimulus from it!

Artists and illustrators who forever inspire me are: Georgia O’Keefe, Kandinsky, Yayoi Kasuma, Emanuel Sammartano, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali, Jules Cheret, Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, David Downton, Margaret Olley, Ken Done, Sidney Nolan, Donald Robertson, Richard Haines, Mari Andrew and Meagan Morrison. I could continue this list but it would go on for days!

Yes, I most certainly do! For a full list of my services, click here.

Very rarely. It’s not to say that I won’t but it largely depends on my commercial client workload.

I do teach illustration workshops and undertake private tuition.

You’ll be seeing more of my illustrations through brand collaborations and campaigns. You’ll be HEARING more from me through speaking engagements and other exciting instalments (*Winky face). In between client jobs, I am currently working on one of my biggest passions – a large personal project, which includes fashion, design, sustainability remodification. I am excited to reveal more about it soon.
